Bio

Ken Busby Jr

Grit-driven country built on truth, not trends.

Ken Busby Jr. is a country songwriter and recording artist from Alabama, blending raw, lived-in storytelling with modern country soul. His music sits at the intersection of grit and vulnerability—where love, loss, and redemption aren’t just themes, they’re scars. Fresh off filming as a featured songwriter in the Operation Combating Veteran Suicide National Songwriting Showcase Tour in Nashville, his momentum continues to build as both a performer and writer to watch.

Busby’s story isn’t manufactured—it’s earned. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 1st Infantry Division, his life took a drastic turn after surviving a stroke in 2019 that temporarily stole his ability to speak. What could have ended everything instead sharpened his purpose. Music became more than expression—it became survival. That weight shows up in every lyric, especially in deeply personal songs like “I Can’t Live Without You,” inspired by a moment that shook him awake to what really matters.

His songwriting cuts deeper than most because it’s rooted in truth, not trends. From co-writing “Too Mean to Die” with Bobby Tomberlin—a tribute to a WWII veteran—to crafting emotionally charged ballads about love, faith, and resilience, Busby doesn’t chase hits—he writes what hits back. A 2024 graduate of Guitars for Vets, he continues to use music not just as a career, but as a way to connect, heal, and serve.

With new music on the horizon and growing recognition on stages and showcases across the country, Ken Busby Jr. is just getting started. Follow along, stream his latest releases, and stay connected for upcoming shows and projects.
